The art of classic sailing in Ibiza and beyond
Ibiza
Echoes of Empires, Rhythms of Today
For more than three millennia Ibiza has been a nautical crossroads, its coves and headlands guiding every kind of mariner—from Phoenician merchants shuttling copper and salt, to Carthaginian and Roman galleys, and even the daring Viking flotillas that swept through the western Mediterranean in the 9th century.
Anchored midway between Iberia and North Africa, the island sits astride the great east-west trade lane that once linked Alexandria, Carthage, Cádiz and beyond, making its natural harbours coveted safe havens and strategic waypoints.
That same position still shapes Ibiza’s identity today: a place where seafaring knowledge accumulates like layered teak, and where each era’s sailors—ancient, medieval or modern—leave traces in anchor holes, watchtowers and the islanders’ deep-rooted respect for the sea.
The Project
Promoting the Art of Classic Sailing in Ibiza
At the heart of our initiative is a single, shimmering goal: to keep the heritage of classic yachting alive and thriving in the turquoise waters of Ibiza.
As dedicated caretakers of Sailing Yacht Peter, built in 1939, we celebrate her timeless elegance while opening her decks to a new generation of sailors, dreamers, and maritime storytellers.
We promote and curate the art of classic sailing by sharing hands-on knowledge, nurturing the community, and demonstrating the living history that Sailing Yacht Peter embodies.
Every sheet trimmed and every line coiled aboard tells a tale of craftsmanship that spans almost a century — yet remains vibrant and relevant today.

Community

Whether you charter Peter for a luminous day at sea or step aboard for a community sail, you become part of a living tradition — keeping classic seamanship relevant and delightfully adventurous.
